Do You Drink On Airplanes?

And, no. We’re not referencing the complimentary water, coffee, and soft drinks that come standard with beverage service on just about every airline. We want to know about the hard stuff; the stuff you used to sneak out of your parent’s liquor cabinets in the middle of the night. The stuff that requires you to swipe a credit card or use one of those paper vouchers that come in the mail or an extra one compliments of your seat neighbor.

Some of us from Bleu HQ have been known to indulge in an in-air Bloody Mary (or two) when battling travel anxiety on a bicoastal trip or a cheap pour of white wine to wind down mid-flight. One of our lovely ladies had one too many and was cut off by a buzz kill flight attendant (altitude plus booze can sneak up on you). Others are anti-alcohol when it comes to flying and prefer to guzzle a steaming cup of coffee, or will order a mug of hot water to dip their favorite herbal tea bags from home. And for some it’s just good, clean H20 to prevent mile-high dehydration or to cut down on travel costs. We want to hear from you ā€” scotch and soda, vodka Sprite, Bud Light ā€” what’s your poison? We’re curious…do you “party” in the sky? Or, is air-time alcohol a no go? Tell us why. We’re all ears!

Just H2O and a ginger ale for me! Flying makes me nauseous at times and ginger ale and trader joe’s ginger chews always help. Drinking while flying makes me feel bloated & very agitated once out of the airport and dumped into some crazy expedition of finding the rideshare pick-up location.

Nope, since I always have children with me and a small budget, though before kids if I got to the airport early enough I’d get and Irish coffee at the airport bar…. Mmm now I want one.

Haaaaale no. Being on a plane already makes my sensitive body feel all types of ways. I down as much water as I can. (But envy those who can get tipsy up in the air with no problems at all. Looks p fun.)

Absolutely — First, I’ll start a regular ole’ V8 (a product I only ever seem to consume on flights) Then, I’ll order a second with a side of vodka and pepper packets in order to make myself a nice li’l bloody mary. Unfortunately, the more years that I travel, the smaller the V8 cans get… which means the stronger the bloody!
