We usually hit the virtual shelves of Amazon to stock up on household items, to find a last minute gift that can be shipped via Prime, and to buy books on the cheap, but did you know that the online mega-store is also an A+ place to look for clothing? It is. Especially when it comes to basics, shoes, and accessories. You have to sort through a lot of junk, but Amazon never ceases to amaze me with its many hidden gems, plus the site houses popular brands that are currently in stores now and often those items carry a lower price tag and / or ship free. So, I figured why not share some of my shopping secrets and a few of the fashion staples I’ve found over the years that I freakin’ love and wear so much. And, if you have any special Amazon clothing finds yourself, please please share the wealth below.
My Amazon Closet
Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 Sneakers
"This is my second pair of these, and one of the most frequently asked questions I get when I wear them on Instagram is 'WHAT ARE THOSE?' Now ya know!"
Onitsuka Tiger , $89Levi's Ribcage Ankle Jeans
"Jeans are hard. And, they're definitely one of those things that should be tried on in-store to ensure the perfect size and fit. I usually wear only vintage 501s (with the exception of a select few) because I know that they make my non-existent butt exist, and are high-waisted, which I prefer in denim. I took a chance on these based on the photos and the one and only rave review, and praise be! They fit like a glove, make my butt look great, and come in two lengths, which are a #tallgirlproblems dream come true."
Levi's , $98Hanes x Karla The Baby Tee
"Hanes x Karla on Amazon? Yep!! I sized up in this one and am completely in love with the fit."
Hanes x Karla , $30Top Level The Perfect Beanie
"I was on a quest to find the perfect beanie — one that wasn't too think or too thin, had the perfect amount of height, a good fold, and was micro ribbed — I finally turned to Amazon and came across this little baby. It was a $9 risk that I was willing to take because it looked as if it checked all the boxes, and my risk paid off. This is the very best beanie that money can buy, and it comes in all colors, too!"
Top Level , $9Ray-Ban Round Metal Sunglasses
"I have actually owned these sunglasses for several years, but I found them on Amazon and figured I should add them to this list. They're a lot cheaper here than in stores and I still wear them to this day."
Ray-Ban , $115Champion Reverse Weave Pullover Hoodie
"Champion was a 'cool' brand when I was in high school oh-so many years ago, and now my teenagers are wearing it because it's 'cool' again. In a search for some Champion gear that topped my kids' birthday list, I added a black one to the Amazon cart for myself and I have been living in it and feeling quite 'cool' myself."
Champion , $60Vince Slip Skirt
"Finding Vince on Amazon made for a good day. This skirt is classic and beautiful, and very in line with the '90s Kate Moss story I wrote last week. A little pricy, yes, but amazing just the same."
Vince , $245Calvin Klein Cotton Rich Dress Socks
"These are the best trouser socks and come in a pack of three. Basic, but essential for fall."
Calvin Klein , $21Hanes Boy’s Ribbed Undershirt / Tank
"I've been wearing these for decades and still think they are the best when it comes to keeping things casual. I buy a 5-pack in a boys XL and after they are washed and dried, the fit is perfection. I wear them with everything — jeans, a skirt, under a blazer — a necessity in my wardrobe."
Hanes , $20Hanky Panky Low-Rise Organic Cotton Thong
"Yes, I buy my underwear on Amazon and I don't care who knows it! My friend Rebecca told me that these are the most comfortable thongs ever made and so, like I do, I searched for them on Amazon and BINGO, I found them! She's right, they truly are comfortable and the quality is superb!"
Hanky Panky , $54
