All Eyes On Red, White, and Bleu

This may be a hot take, but we’ll say it anyway: the Fourth of July is a welcomed holiday around these parts. And, we get it. We understand the day is laced in hypocrisy and political overtones, yet we can’t help but relish in the grilled burgers and hot dogs (no, really, give us all the relish please), the ice cold beer, the potato salad, and the bags of chips that go alongside that oh-so delicious seven layer dip. Then there’s that late-evening chill that follows an day well spent baking in the sun and drenched in SPF, the smell of backyard barbecue and bug spray in your hair, and the sugar crash after too many Bomb Pops, chocolate chip cookies, and the double fudge brownies that someone’s Aunt Cathy baked with love and care. Even those worthless “firework” snakes that more so resemble miniature piles of poo and the (most-likely) toxic smoke bombs that we still get excited to light because it’s what you do on this Star Spangled day.

For us, it’s less about the day itself and more about the nostalgia and memories that come along with it. Regardless of which holiday floats your boat, there’s no shame in wanting to look chic as hell when that day finally arrives. And as cliche as it may be, it does only roll around once a year.
